Mingle and Plei was created with one simple belief: adults deserve space to play, connect, and enjoy one another - without pretense or pressure.

Founded over 20 years ago, Mingle and Plei has become a trusted social experience rooted in community, culture, and joy. What started as intimate game nights shared through word of mouth has grown into a beloved staple - bringing together people from all walks of life together to laugh, dance, compete, and connect.

At its core, Plei is about human connection.

Built on Community & Culture

Plei was built by the community, for the community - and continues to grow because of it. 

Over the years, we’ve partnered with local creatives, DJs, game makers, artists, and venues to create experiences that feel authentic, inclusive, and alive. We proudly celebrate Black joy, nostalgia, and togetherness - while welcoming anyone who values respect, play, and connection.

Our events are intentionally designed to feel familiar yet fresh - like the best parts of a house party, game night, and dance floor all in one.

Founder

Mingle and Plei was founded by Cheryl Lizana, a community builder with a deep belief in the power of play and connection.

What began as small, word-of-mouth game nights grew into a trusted social experience because Cheryl stayed committed to one thing: creating spaces where adults could show up as themselves, feel welcomed, and genuinely enjoy one another.

Her approach has always been simple and intentional - lead with joy, center community, and let connection happen naturally.

A Legacy of Play

Long before social media made events easy to promote, Plei was thriving through flyers, conversations, and genuine word-of-mouth. That legacy still matters.

For more than two decades, Mingle and Plei has remained consistent in its mission:
